The Signature Theatre on 42nd Street in NYC is a unique institution, focusing each theatrical season on the work of one living American playwright. Through ambitious outreach to underserved communities and aggressive grant aquisition, the theater offers a wonderful cultural experience at low cost for all New Yorkers. C&G developed a new identity system for the Signature Theatre Company, based around a dynamic, variable logo created by layering the signatures of the fifteen playwrights who have worked with the theatre. The system was played out across institutional collateral, a year's worth of artistic and development materials, and a complete overhaul of the theater's front-of-house and exterior spaces.
